Mute and quiet hours
A mute policy stops alerts from interrupting you while still delivering them. Muted alerts arrive in the inbox and update the badge, but show no system notification, play no sound, and do not bring the window forward.
The policy belongs to your account and applies to every channel and every device you are signed in on. You need to be signed in to use it; without an account, use the operating system’s notification settings.
Set the policy
Section titled “Set the policy”Open Settings → Mute policy and choose one:
| Choice | Effect |
|---|---|
| Do not mute | Alerts are presented normally. |
| Always mute | Alerts are muted until you change the policy. |
| Mute on a schedule | Alerts are muted every day between Starts and Ends, in the chosen Time zone. |
A schedule can cross midnight, for example from 22:00 to 07:00. The start and end times must be different. The time zone is saved with the policy, so it keeps working the same way when you travel or use devices set to other time zones; change it yourself when you need to.
When either muted choice is selected, Allow urgent alerts while muted decides whether high and urgent alerts still use their normal presentation. It is on by default. Turn it off to mute every level.
Choose Save. If you changed the policy on another device in the meantime, the app keeps your edits and offers Load server version so you can merge them.
What mute does not change
Section titled “What mute does not change”- Alerts are still delivered, stored, and synced across your devices.
- Alerts can still be acknowledged, and senders’ receipts and callbacks work as usual.
- Urgent reminders keep running in the background. A reminder that falls in muted time is silent; once the mute ends, the next reminder is presented normally if the alert is still not acknowledged.
Channels have no mute switch of their own. To quiet one noisy channel, lower its level with Alert settings.
