Inbox

The Alerts page is the inbox. Every alert sent to a channel you receive lands here, whatever its level and whether or not a notification was shown.

  • A summary at the top, such as “3 open alerts”, with a separate count of alerts that need acknowledgement.
  • Heartbeat status for heartbeats set to Show status on Alerts page.
  • Needs attention: alerts still waiting for a response.
  • Other activity: everything else.

Use the filter to narrow the list:

Filter Shows
All Every alert on this device.
Open Alerts that are not yet acknowledged or resolved.
Ack Alerts waiting for acknowledgement.
Done Acknowledged and resolved alerts.
State Meaning
Unread Not opened yet. Opening an alert marks it read.
Read Opened, and needs nothing else.
Needs ack Waiting for someone to acknowledge it.
Acked Acknowledged on one of the devices that received it.
Resolved Closed by the sender’s system, for example a heartbeat that recovered.

Acknowledgement and resolution are shared: when one device acknowledges an alert, it shows as acknowledged everywhere.

An alert that repeats shows its count, for example “3 occurrences”, instead of appearing three times; see Repeated events.

Open an alert to see its full text and link, and Details: its status, level, event type and subject, thread, when it was last seen, and whether it was encrypted. Alerts that require acknowledgement show Acknowledge here.

On a wide screen, the list and the selected alert’s details are shown side by side.

Delete alert removes the alert from this device only. The server, the sender’s receipt, and your other devices are not affected.

Alerts are kept on the server for 21 days unless the sender set a different expires_at.

The inbox updates on its own when alerts arrive or change, through push and a live connection while the app is open. The connection status shows whether that connection is Connected, Reconnecting, or Disconnected. To check immediately, choose Refresh alerts.
