Alert settings

A sender picks each alert’s level, but you may care about it differently. A channel’s alert settings let you change the level its alerts have on your device, for example making anything that mentions production urgent and everything else normal.

Open the channel’s actions on the Channels page and choose Alert settings.

Follow message level keeps the level the sender chose. Pick a level instead to use it for every alert from this channel that no rule matches.

Under Title/body matching rules, choose Add rule and set:

  • Search in: Title, Body, or Title or body.
  • Search text: the words to look for. Matching ignores upper and lower case.
  • Alert level: the level to use when the text is found.
  • Enabled: turn a rule off without deleting it.

Rules are checked in the order they were added, and the first rule that matches decides the level. Choose Save to keep your changes.

The resulting level decides how the alert is presented on this device, using the delivery methods you set in Alert levels. It does not change what the sender asked for: whether the alert requires acknowledgement, its reminders, and what other recipients see stay the same.

Alert settings are stored on this device, so set them on each device where you want them. Matching happens on the device, which means it also works on encrypted alerts once they are decrypted, and your search text is never sent to the server.

Mute policy still applies after a rule changes the level.
